Walkers in Amazonia/ Peru Pavilion – Architecture Biennale 2023

Commissioners: José Orrego
Curator: Alexia León, Lucho Marcial
Exhibitor: Waman Wasi et al
Project Manager: eiletz | ortigas architects
Construction and Installations: R3B

The installation allows visitors to encounter the nomadic indigenous peoples of the Amazon and their way of reconfiguring the territories they have inhabited for at least ten thousand years.

Through the Calendar project, Waman Wasi shows us the maintenance and curation of indigenous peoples’ reticular knowledge, which makes possible the regeneration of tropical forest biodiversity and variety, the result of continuous collective cooperation between humans and nonhumans.

Through a dynamic audiovisual experience, visitors will be able to explore the many facets of a reality at once near and far, enunciated by the collective act of walking.
Thanks to @eiletz.ortigas@joseorregoherrera@wamanwasi_@leonmarcial_arquitectos for choosing us for this very interesting project.
